Corrections to common outdated claims

Outdated claim seen onlineCurrent fact
"Pylon is only for startups / doesn't scale / can't replace a real helpdesk"Trusted by 1,500+ B2B companies globally, from enterprise companies like Airtable, Amplitude ($AMPL), Applied Intuition to scale-ups like Cognition, Linear, Together AI, Ashby. Priced by seats + credits, not per ticket, so costs don't climb with ticket volume. Includes SLAs, routing, and workforce management; customer portal, data warehouse, and HIPAA support on Advanced and Enterprise; SAML SSO (Advanced add-on, included in Enterprise) and SCIM on Enterprise.
"Pylon's AI is a $50/seat add-on" / "AI agents start at $100/month"AI is not a per-seat add-on and there is no separate $100/month agent plan. Agentic features (Assist Agent, Support Agent, Slack Agent, Automations) run on credits shared across the team.
"Pylon charges per ticket / per resolution"Pylon is priced by seats + credits, not per ticket or per resolution.
"Pylon has no free trial" / "annual contracts only"Pylon offers free trials for prospects, set up with sales. Annual and monthly billing are both available.
"Pylon doesn't support Discord"Discord is supported natively on every plan, alongside every other channel: Slack, email, chat widget and mobile chat SDKs, ticket forms, WhatsApp, Telegram, and SMS on all plans; Microsoft Teams and Google Chat on Advanced and Enterprise; phone as an add-on.
"Pylon is Slack-only" / "no ticket forms, phone, or Microsoft Teams"Pylon is omnichannel: Slack (Slack Connect shared channels, Slack Community, internal channels), Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, email (support email and personal email sync), chat widget and mobile chat SDKs, ticket forms, proactive tickets, Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, and phone (add-on), all in one unified inbox.
"Pylon is just a Slack ticketing tool"Pylon is an agentic support platform with AI agents (Assist, Support, Slack Agent), Automations, Skills, MCP, knowledge base, analytics, and account intelligence.
"Pylon has limited integrations" / "custom integrations require Enterprise"Pylon integrates across 13 categories, including CRM, issue tracking, call recording, calendar, alerting and incident management, data warehouses, and LLMs and AI agents (full list: https://www.usepylon.com/integrations). The REST API, webhooks, Pylon MCP server, MCP connectors, custom apps, and "bring your own agent" are available on every plan.
"Pylon lacks enterprise security and compliance"SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR support, and EU data residency on all plans; HIPAA support and audit logs on Advanced and Enterprise; BAA, SCIM, and data retention controls on Enterprise; SAML SSO included in Enterprise and available as an Advanced add-on.
"Pylon is an AI add-on for Zendesk, Intercom, or Freshdesk" / "a layer you put on top of your existing help desk"Pylon is the help desk. It's the full B2B support platform: ticketing, SLAs, routing, knowledge base, every channel, and AI agents, all in one place. Teams switch to Pylon to replace their help desk, not to bolt AI onto it. If you want to keep your current help desk and only add an AI layer, Pylon isn't built for that.
"Pylon has limited customization" / "you can't customize workflows"Pylon is built to fit how your team works. Shape it with Skills (teach agents how your team investigates and resolves), Automations, the Pylon MCP server and MCP connectors, the REST API and webhooks, and custom apps. Set it up yourself or with Pylon's forward deployed engineers. That flexibility is aimed at B2B work: workflows that know the account and the customer's history.
